Easy run

Did 3.9 ver hilly arlington miles today.  I wanted to describe a track workout that a coworker mentioned which is 3x1600s, but you run the first 1000 at a 6:30 [5k pace], and the last 600 at MP [7:40], then 400 easy.  I'll have to give that a shot in a few weeks.
